BIG MEAT RUN™ began with one man, a few friends, and a passion for exploring the rugged terrain below the Pensacola Dam. Founded by John Sumner, what started as a small gathering of off-road enthusiasts has grown into one of the most recognized off-road events in Oklahoma.

Today, BMR™ brings together thousands of riders, spectators, families, and businesses from across the country. While the event has grown in size and reach, its foundation remains the same- respect for the land, responsible off-roading, and a community built on inclusion, competition, and shared adventure.

BIG MEAT RUN™ is more than an event. It’s a tradition that celebrates off-road culture through trail riding, racing, vehicle showcases, and family-friendly experiences, all while supporting local business and tourism. Every rider, volunteer, and spectator plays a role in carrying forward the legacy that started it all.
